Litha – Summer Solstice ©

The summer days at last begin

We feel the sun’s warmth within.

Although the daylight now grows less

With summer beauty, we are blessed.

The earth is awake in all her glory

Full trees and flowers tell her story.

But dwindling days of summer light

Remind us all, when birds take flight,

To heed the message they do send

Prepare for harvest at summers end.

Enjoy the season when soft breezes hum,

For fall and winter will surely come.

The leaves will fall, as we do know,

And earth will sleep beneath the snow.
