The Sacred Nature of Dates

Today, Wednesday, the date is 12-12-12. This is the last of this sort of repetitive date most of us will see in our lifetimes.

There are many special dates. We all understand the power of the first day of a month, for instance. You might honor that day by making a wish, or saying "Rabbit Rabbit" for good luck.

Each year we observe the first day of January with parties and resolutions. Whether by cultural tradition, intuition or the study of numerology we know in our hearts that the numbers around us are sacred. We know the number on our calendars can be particularly important.

In numerology, 12-12-12 breaks down into 3-3-3. Three is a sacred number in many traditions. It is a number of spiritual guardianship, success, magick and creativity.

Because of this special date, this week is a particularly good time to start projects, to pay attention to intuition and to feel the protection of your ancestors and angels around you.

What would you like to manifest in your life? Today is a great day to set your intention because the power of 12-12-12, or 3x3, is with you!

When is it Time to Have a Reading?

Many clients ask me "When is it time to have a reading?" My answer is usually simple: "Whenever you feel ready!" But there are times in life when a reading is exactly what you need.

Your Weekly One-Card Reading

Your One-Card reading for the week is the Seven of Cups. Often this card shows seven cups hanging in the air. Each cup has something in it. Some of the cups hold desirable things; a castle, jewels, a beautiful woman. Others are less positive, or at least less clear. There is a shrouded figure indicating the unknown. There is a monster.

A person stares at the cups as if trying to choose the right one.

I see the Seven of Cups as indicating the need to carefully make decisions.

This week, you will have to think carefully about what it is you really want in your life. Many things are available. Whatever you choose will be what you must embrace, so choose wisely.

Make sure you know the difference between legitimate goals and illusions. Make sure you imagine your best future.  Do not be fooled by fantasies or worries.

You have a great deal of control over your destiny; take that responsibility seriously.

Animal Sightings: What Do They Mean?

During my free Basic Psychic Development Webinar last week we spent some time talking about paying attention to signs around us; especially signs from nature.

When we see a wild animal we often think "What does this mean?" Sometimes the animals we see are simply native to where we live. When I lived in Pennsylvania seeing a deer simply meant I lived in the Pocono Mountains.  But even then, there might be something there to interpret. How many deer? What were they doing? Was it a fawn, a doe or a stag? Many people believe that each of these possibilities carry a different spiritual message.

Sometimes we see animals doing special things, or in unusual places. I have often seen birds flying low and carrying prey. This seems to be a special message for me about opportunities coming my way.

Once I saw a deer on the corner of Sunnyside and Woodstock in densely populated Putnam, CT.  A few months later my family and I moved to Sunnyside and that corner became my son's school bus stop. Coincidence? I think not.

How do we know what messages animals have for us? There is lore from many cultures; some of it conflicting. I think it is good to look up animal meanings on-line and see if anything you read resonates for you. If it doesn't resonate there still may be a personal message.

Think about the animal and how you feel about it. Do you have any particular connection with this type of animal?

What sorts of behaviors do you associate with this animal, and do these behaviors offer any advice to you at this time?

What or whom does the animal make you remember?

What is the animal doing? Is it something you need to be doing as well, or does it offer a head-up to you for the near future?

Use both your cognitive mind and your intuition to decipher the message.

Animals can come to us bearing messages from our loved ones in spirit, our angels or our higher selves. They can come to us in dreams as well as in the waking world. They can come as a reminder that we are loved and protected. They can come to give us a new focus or urge a new behavior.

The next time you see a wild animal in the world or in your dreams, spend some time thinking about what its message for you might be.
