Home

I’m back to my Florida home after spending ten days in the place I called “home” for most of my life, Connecticut.

On the way back we spent a short bit of time driving through another place I call home, Pennsylvania.

It all got me thinking about the concept of “home.” I was amazed at how poignant it felt to be in New London, Putnam and Niantic, places I had spent so many happy years. But when I finally returned to our new home in Lutz, Florida, well, that felt like home too.

I think some people have a single place in life they call home; others have many. Sometimes the concept of home refers to a house where you lived, or a town where you grew up. Other times it feels more spiritual. Home can be a place that you discover- a place that calls to your heart.

Home can be a place where you are surrounded by friends and family, or a place where no one yet knows you. Perhaps home is simply a feeling of comfort, and of belonging.

What is home for you?

Some Highlights From My Trip

After a very rainy drive from Florida to Connecticut we had wonderful weather for most of our time in the Northeast. I was happy to visit people’s homes for house calls and psychic parties throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island, including homes in Niantic, Cheshire, Bristol, Putnam, Danielson and Westerly.

I also spent some time (unofficially) giving readings at the Bean and Leaf Café in New London. What a great atmosphere they provide.

I was delighted to meet some people in person who have been phone clients for years, and to see some old friends that I haven’t seen in years. I met a lot of new friends, too.

I am so grateful to everyone who hosted parties, attended parties and took the time to have readings with me during my trip.

I am also grateful to my phone clients who waited patiently for their phone reading recordings while I was away from my computer.

To those who just didn’t fit into the schedule this year I apologize, and look forward to seeing you next year.

I am already planning for next year’s Northeast Tour. I will be in Connecticut for a longer period of time in August 2014 in order to try to accommodate everyone.  Whenever you are ready to book your party, give me a call. It’s never too early to plan ahead!

Tarot Cards That Speak of Home

The concept of “Home” shows up in many tarot cards, and is often the subject of tarot readings, or at least a factor in most readings.

Here are some cards in which you will find reference to the concept of “home.”

The Ten of Pentacles is the traditional card of real estate. Often called the “Castle Card,” it can refer to real estate transactions. The Ten of Pentacles can also refer to one’s family home, the home of one’s ancestors, or to a home one truly loves and enjoys.

The Nine of Pentacles can refer to a lovely garden, or to one’s happiness and security in one’s home.

The Four of Wands is the traditional card of marriage. It can also describe a stable and happy home life.

The Ten of Cups is the card of the “happy family,” and therefore a happy home.

The Empress as a mother image can suggest a return to the home of your childhood, or to your mother’s home.

The Six of Cups is often a card of visiting one’s family home, or a return to the setting of one’s childhood.

When you see these cards in tarot readings they often refer to the importance of home and family.

We’ll also have some music with Robin Renee and the Mutant Mountain Boys, and a review of the newly re-released Renaissance Tarot.

Your One-Card Weekly Reading

Your one-card reading this week is the Seven of Cups. This can be a card of illusion, delusion, fantasy, imagination, dreams and decisions.

In a vision a person sees seven cups, each filled with something different. Some of the offerings are desirable, others much less so.

When we see this card in a reading, we need to make sure we are grounded in reality. We must remember to dream and to use our imagination, but we must also know what is true and real.

We must consider our options, and choose the things that we really want, and that are truly attainable.

Here’s a poem about the Seven of Cups from my 78 Poems Project.

Seven of Cups

Beauty, treasure, the unknown
What you'll reap and what you've sewn.

Serpents, jewels, castles, kings
Dragons dance with feathered wings.

All that you could love or fear
Within these cups are gathered here.

A question stands before your eyes
Which of these to realize?
