This week, many people around the world are observing cultural and religious traditions. Many of these traditions center on the concept of “hope.” Whether we are celebrating the fertility of spring, deliverance from persecution or the promise of life everlasting, many of our celebrations revolve around the beliefs that ground us and keep us rooted in the energy of hope and faith. May the season inspire you! |
| The Strength of Hope Hope is a verb. It’s something we do. Hope is a coping skill. If we have hope, we have the ability to think, to imagine and to visualize. The more we are able to do that, the more we are able to bring improvement, healing and prosperity into our lives. As we celebrate our spring traditions, let’s look at the many ways the traditions we keep, and the stories behind them, are about hope. Let’s use the strength of these traditions to strengthen hope in our own lives. With hope, all things are possible. |
| The Week in Review This week I visited a wonderful restaurant in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Have you tried The Moon under Water? On my personal blog, Tarot Trends, I wrote about three tarot cards that put the future in your hands! On my Tarot Topics Community Blog I answered another question about tarot with a video. | Hope Tarot Spread Spiritual hope is often based on the perception of a promise between a Higher Power and people. Whether it is simply the promise that the sun will rise another day, or the promise of an eternal reward, we often use that sense of spiritual promise to buoy our hopes and keep our frame of mind positive. Here is a tarot spread designed to help you feel the sense of spiritual security that hope brings. This is a three-card spread. You can arrange the cards in a row. Each card answers a specific question about the promise the Universe holds for you. Card one: What do I hope for myself? Card two: How does the Universe support these hopes? Card three: How can I support my hopes? Perform this spread to stay focused and optimistic! |
| What’s Up at the Psychic Café? On April 13, our topic at the Psychic Café was “Kindness.” We heard from Donnaleigh De LaRose, who gave us a “Random Acts of Tarot Kindness” exercise. Anita Perez gave us a personal story of kindness. Linda Armstrong shared her transformation from “Wall Street Dragon Lady” to becoming the founder and director of a non-profit agency. | Learning Tarot: Seven of Wands  In tarot, the number seven refers to valor, personal strength, individuality, independence and courage. In the Seven of Wands we see a person successfully defending himself against superior odds. The Seven of Wands may refer to a feeling of being overwhelmed, busy, under attack or defensive. The Seven of Wands often reminds us that we are able to deftly handle our circumstances, no matter how difficult it may seem at times. Key words for the Seven of Wands include defense, capability, valor and multi-tasking. The Seven of Wands tells you to defend your projects, and assures you of your ability to be successful. | Your One-Card Weekly Reading  Your one-card reading this week is the Star!
It is auspicious that such a healing, spiritual card be drawn for a week when so many people’s thoughts turn to spiritual matters. Interestingly, I had chosen “Hope” as our theme this week prior to drawing the Star, whose key word is “Hope.” The Star is the card of healing, hope, fulfillment and abundance. In this card, heaven’s healing light is poured upon the Earth. This week, know that all hope, and all healing, are available to you. |
