Guidance We all have access to an “internal guidance system.” That is, something within ourselves that we can tune into to find wisdom, direction, clarity and insight. This internal guidance system is what we find when we pray or meditate. This is our way of hearing guidance from a Higher Power, or from a loved one in spirit. Often we receive wonderful guidance from the people around us. Sometimes it feels that Spirit is speaking through them as well. Sometimes we receive guidance through sacred texts, or through inspirational messages. Sometimes, just when we feel we need it most, our internal guidance system seems to stop functioning. This is when divination, oracles and intuitive work can become most helpful. These tools helps us to hear our guidance and find our direction. The key to using our internal guidance system is to tune in and listen. When we need to, we can ask questions and seek answers. Sometimes answers come in silence, or in symbols, but the answers will always come. |

Tarot Cards for Guidance on the Life Path Each tarot card offers to us a message of guidance. There are some cards that might offer messages that are very specific about guiding you on your life path. When these cards come up in a reading, pay special attention to their advice. Think about these cards in terms of your bigger picture; your life path. The Fool: The Fool reminds you that life is a journey. Enjoy your journey with the fearlessness of a child. The journey may be more important than the destination. The Hermit: The Hermit reminds you to find guidance by seeking solitude and looking within. Judgement: Judgement can refer to the process of hearing your calling, or communicating with Spirit. The Aces: Each Ace speaks to the initiation of a journey. The specific Ace can give insight as to the nature of that journey. The Knights: The Knights encourage you to prepare for a journey, and to pursue your calling. While these cards bear particular messages about your life path, each and every tarot card can offer profound and specific guidance. A great exercise is to look through your tarot deck at each card. Decide how each card could be interpreted to answer this question. “What guidance do you offer for me on my life path?” |

The Week in Review This week I really enjoyed discussing business strategies on my webcast, Christiana’s Psychic Café, with a great panel of experts. Afterwards, I was inspired to write about “Six Rules for Success” on my Dark Forest blog. On my Tarot Topics Community Blog, I shared some information about creating local tarot community. On my personal blog, Tarot Trends, I shared a written and video discussion of Ciro Marchetti’s new “Oracle of Visions.” From Around the Web From Tierney Sadler’s “The Daily Draw,” I really enjoyed “Realizing You’re Special.” From Jenna Matlin at Queen of Wands Tarot, here is a great list of YouTube links for meditation. Check out Jenna’s favorite guided meditations! Here’s an interesting and insightful perspective from tarotist Fiona Benjamin. I was happy to get a nod from Fiona in her post “Tarot Tip: Respect and Tarot Etiquette.” |

Your Tarot Guidance Counselor Tarot can be a particularly good oracle to use to receive the guidance you need. Simply shuffle the deck, ask questions and pull a few cards to answer each question. Alternatively, you can write down all of your questions and use them to create a specific custom tarot spread. The key is in knowing what questions to ask. Sometimes we seek guidance when we are trying to find our path, or our calling. It is fine to ask large, open questions such as “What is my path?” or “What should I be doing?” It is also helpful to ask the questions a slightly different way, such as “What do I need to know about finding my path?” or “What do I need to do to find my path?” Sometimes we seek guidance to handle a specific situation. In that case, consider all the elements of the situation. Are there other people involved, for instance? Sometimes it is helpful to do a spread with one card to represent each element in a situation. Sometimes it is helpful to simply perform a one-card draw for guidance. Just ask, “What direction do you have for me?” and pull a card. Take some time to interpret the card. Perhaps meditate with it, or write about it. Often you will find guidance as you spend time with a single tarot card. |

Learning Tarot: Knight of Wands In tarot, the Knights are considered masculine, but can refer to people of any gender. Typically, Knights are young people; perhaps teenagers or young adults. Knights can also be anyone who is in pursuit of a particular goal. The nature of that goal is determined by the suit. Knights can also indicate travel, or can encourage you to pursue a goal. The Knight of Wands is the Knight of Fire. Of all four Knights, the Knight of Wands is the most likely to be a bit goofy. That is because the Knight of Wands is pursuing the element of Fire. Fire is about creativity, passion, excitement, humor, sexuality and fun. Sometimes, in the pursuit of fun we can go a bit overboard. The Knight of Wands can also be an artist, a person pursuing creativity, spirituality or exploration of something about which they are passionate. The Knight of Wands might come up in a reading to direct you to pursue your passions. The Knight of Wands might predict a journey, or a trip, in pursuit of passion, spirituality, creativity, excitement or fun. Next week we will meet the Queen of Wands. |

Your One-Card Weekly Reading Your one-card reading this week is the Ace of Cups! This is a very auspicious card. The Ace of Cups can predict a new romance, a new friendship, or the birth of a child. The Ace of Cups is the Holy Grail. This card represents our spiritual connection to Higher Power. The Ace of Cups is the open heart chakra. This card represents our ability to give and receive unconditional love. We have all sustained hurt in our lives. The Ace of Cups reminds us that emotional healing is always available to us, and that the high vibration of love is infinite and eternal. This week, remember that love is all around you. Remember that love is your essence and your birthright. Take time to reach out to old friends, and to make new ones. Remember that you are loved. |
