Meditation

Meditation is the key to relaxation, well-being, manifestation and psychic development.

So many people are convinced that they “can’t meditate.” Usually this is because they don’t realize how many ways there are to meditate.

Every culture and tradition teaches some meditative practice, and your meditative practice can be as unique as you are.

You can meditate while walking, dancing or drumming. You can meditate in water, or with music. The important thing is to stay focused on your conscious breathe.

If you don’t have a meditative practice, try to find one that works for you. Each of us needs a way to clear, ground and center.

When we meditate, we develop focus, self-control, intuition and connection with our guidance.

Meditation for Psychic Development

I know a professional psychic who says that all psychic work comes down to four basics; sleep, meditation, exercise and diet.

I think it makes sense that the basics of good health support our psychic development.

If you want to be more intuitive, or more able to listen to your guidance, meditation can help.

When you meditate, focus on your breathing. As in yoga, and other holistic practices, the breath is very important.

Don’t worry about “emptying your mind.” Simply breathe, and let your mind wander. What do you think about when you are not controlling your thoughts?

After your meditation, write down the thoughts that came to you, and spend some time reflecting on them.

Meditation gives more energy than it takes, and can be done in very little time.

Eventually, you will begin to hear your guidance, and feel in tune with your higher consciousness.

The Week in Review

This week on my Tarot Topics Community Blog I wrote a piece about a very interesting Major Arcana card, the Lovers. Believe it or not, the Lovers is a card of logic! Read the post and find out why.

On my personal blog, Tarot Trends, I wrote about a particular tarot experience. Read “Four Suits, a New Relationship and a Tarot Journal.”

On my Dark Forest Blog, here is the second in a three-part series about marketing mistakes. If you have a healing practice, this series is for you!

From Around the Web

The tarot world is always growing and changing. There are new decks, new traditions, and new ways of working with the cards. Here are three exciting, original products for use with your tarot decks. Each is designed to expand your tarot work and play.

From Tierney Sadler, here is “The Deck of 1000 Spreads.”

A similar concept, but different creation, is “Dynamic Spreads Deck.”

Finally, have you played “The Tarot Game?”

Three Ways to Meditate with a Tarot Card

Many tarot books and teachers will tell you to meditate with you cards, or with a particular card. But how is that done?

There are a few ways many people use to meditate with tarot. You may find a new way, and that’s great, too. We are constantly expanding the ways we work with tarot.

1.  Problem-Solving Tarot Meditation

If there is a particular problem you need to solve, find the card that, to you, represents that problem. In meditation, see yourself as the character in the card, and find a way to solve the problem presented in the card.

As you lay down your Ten of Wands burden, or remove your Eight of Swords blindfold, you will find the power and support to solve your problem in life.

2.  Wisdom-Seeking Tarot Meditation

If you are seeking a particular sort of wisdom or knowledge, find the card that represents that wisdom to you. In meditation, enter the card and have a conversation with the card character. You will be surprised at the wisdom you receive.

3.  Card Study Tarot Meditation

Chose a card each day, or each time you study. Choose the card at random, or do each card in order. Simply look at the card, read about it, and think about it.

Then, in meditation, keep the card in your vision and ask it “What do you mean to me?”

Try these three tarot meditation techniques, and see what other techniques you can develop to let tarot and meditation enhance each other.

What’s Up at the Psychic Café?

While I am traveling in August I am featuring some of my favorite episodes of Christiana’s Psychic Café.  This past Sunday we revisited my conversation with Jeanne Fiorini. Jeanne is a gifted tarotist with a grounded perspective. She’s also a stand-up comedian!

Coming up on Sunday, August 24th we will replay my conversation with author, Egyptologist and newspaperman Kingsley Guy, author of the wonderful novel, “Queen of the Heavens.”

In his career with the Sun-Sentinel, Guy met heads of state all over the world. In his first novel, he explores the spiritual gifts of Tuya, mother of Ramses II.

Christiana’s Psychic Café is my weekly webcast. It airs on the Para Encounters Network, each Sunday at 9 pm Eastern.

Archived webcasts available on my YouTube channel.

Learning Tarot: Page of Cups

In tarot, Pages can represent children, young people, students and communicators. It is possible that, when a Page appears in a tarot reading, the Page is a reference to an actual young person in the querent’s life.

The Page of Cups could be a young person with a strong “Water” energy. That is, the Page of Cups can be a gentle, sensitive young person, with a loving heart and a kind disposition.

The Page of Cups can also be a person of any age who is engaged in learning something new, or who is learning to communicate their heart.

Sometimes the Page of Cups appears in a reading as a message of love from one who is passed.

The Page of Cups could also represent a romantic interest, especially in younger people.

Pages, and Court cards in general, are not always specific people. The Page of Cups can indicate the need to speak your heart; to express your emotions. The Page of Cups could direct you to temper your communication with love.

The Page of Cups can also predict the arrival of a love letter.

Next week we will continue our journey through the Cups court, when we meet the Knight of Cups.
