Tarot Topics Christiana's Weekly Newsletter Teamwork |
Teamwork
We grow up learning the importance of teamwork. In school, in sports, and later on the job, we all become part of functioning teams. What we don’t often think about is that we each assemble our own personal support teams as well.
When we have a crisis, our support team is there to help us through. Even in good times, it’s important to have a great team around you, to help you be the best you can be.
Who’s on your team?
Of course, many of us have team members who are friends and family. Often, we offer each other mutual support – we are team members in a family or community.
Sometimes communities have special programs that offer us volunteer sponsors, teachers or mentors. These people can play an important role on the team.
We also assemble a team of paid professionals to help us. Our doctors, healers, aestheticians, pastors, therapists, coaches and teachers are all part of the team that keeps us moving forward.
As a tarot reader and instructor, I am glad to be part of your team – part of the group of people who support you.
As much as we each need to assemble support, we are all also support to others. The more we work together, the better we are.

Tarot Helps You Play for your own Team, and Win!
Have you ever noticed that some people are their own worst enemies? It’s true of all of us at some point. Somehow, it seems easier to help others than to help ourselves. It seems easier to believe in others than to believe in ourselves.
Sometimes we seem to do things to sabotage our own best efforts.
It’s great to support others and help others, but we need to be sure that we are acting in our own best interest as well.
Tarot can help you do that. Simply shuffle your deck and ask, “How am I helping myself?” Pull a card, and interpret it to give information about the things you are doing to help yourself. Then ask, “What more do I need to do to help myself?” and pull another card.
Continue to ask questions of the cards to get a clear picture of the ways in which you are helping yourself, and the ways in which you need to make changes.

The Week in Review This week, the Tampa Bay Area Tarot Meetup met for the first time. Read about it on my personal blog, Tarot Trends. On my Dark Forest blog, I gave my reaction to a post on Answers.com about things middle-aged women should do. On my Tarot Topics Community Blog, I posted another “Answers to your Questions about Tarot.” This reader asked two interesting questions. You can read my answers, and watch the video. The questions are about the Major Arcana 15, the Devil, and ways of presenting the darker cards. From Around the Web This week, I’m choosing blog posts that focus on Tarot Court cards. So many readers find these cards difficult to interpret because there are so many possibilities. Perhaps seeing how other tarotists understand the Court cards will help! From The Willow Path Tarot, here is a wonderful piece about The Knight of Pentacles. I love the way she compares the images from different decks. Tarotist Alison Cross has a whole blog devoted to the sixteen Court cards. Check out This Game of Thrones. Here is a very interesting piece from Linda Gail Walters about the Jungian personalities of the Tarot Court. These concepts are definitely advanced, but worth a look! |
Who's on your Team on the Other Side?
I believe that we have a spiritual team helping us through life, in addition to the people we gather around us.
Your spiritual team might include angels, ancestors, loved ones in spirit, animal spirits, deities, guides or guardians.
How is your spiritual team assembled? I believe some of them were present and known to you even before you were born into this life. Others might be those people who loved you in this life and chose to watch over you from the other side. Still others might be those you have asked in your prayers to be present.
Many people report a sense of being called or chosen by a particular saint, angel or deity.
Our spiritual team members come to us in a variety of ways, just as our human teammates do. Another thing they have in common is this.
It is hard to get help from your team members if you don’t reach out to them and ask for help.
Call a friend, make an appointment, say a prayer, light a candle. Lean on your team, both human and spiritual. If you ask for help, they will be there for you.

Rana George is one of the top experts in Lenormand. Her book, "The Essential Lenormand", is an amazing account of her personal journey with the cards, as well as a great how-to book. The video with Rana George is scheduled to debut this coming Sunday!
I am looking forward to introducing you to more of my friends on Christiana’s Psychic Café.

Learning Tarot: Nine of Swords
When we approach the Nine of Swords, we must remember that the Swords can relate to our thoughts. In the case of the Nine of Swords, these thoughts are our worries, our fears and our sadness.
The Nine of Swords may indicate a particular problem that is causing worry or sadness. This card may also refer to insomnia, depression or a general tendency toward worry.
When you see this card, you will need to discover whether the problem is real or imagined. Either way, the Nine of Swords can indicate a certain level of heartache or discomfort.
The Nine of Swords can also discuss clinical sleep disturbances, nightmares or trauma.
Keywords for the Nine of Swords include worry, grief, depression, nightmares and sadness.
When this card appears in a reading, it is important to discover and understand both its cause and possible remedies.
Next week we will continue the story of the Swords with the Ten of Swords.
