Inner Guidance

We all receive inner guidance. Sometimes we find that guidance when we ask for answers in prayer or meditation. Sometimes we receive guidance from our dreams, or from divination.

Many people feel their guidance comes from a Higher Power, or from angels or spirit guides.

Sometimes we find guidance from the signs, omens and synchronicities around us.

Even when we feel lost, when we don’t know what to do next, guidance is always available. We just have to look for it.

Pay Attention to Guidance!

The Universe speaks in mysterious ways. Sometimes our messages come from synchronicities. 

Synchronicities are the “coincidences” that seem to have meaning for us.

Spirit speaks to us in the ways we can hear. That can be through a song on the radio, an animal sighting or an unusual dream.

To hear our guidance, all we have to do is pay attention.

What Does the Universe Want me to Know?

My favorite question for seeking guidance is simple. When I want to check in and make sure I am on the right path and not missing any critical information, I ask this one question.

What does the Universe want me to know?

You can use this question as a basis for divination, with tarot, runes or other tools. You can use this question in meditation. You can ask this question before you go to sleep, and receive your answer in a dream.

The Universe always has information for us. We just need to ask to receive it.

Learning Tarot: Tarot Dignities

Over the past two years, we have explored one tarot card each week. Now, we’ll explore some important tarot reading concepts. This week, our focus is on Tarot Dignities.

A tarot card in a spread is considered either “well dignified” or “ill dignified.” The dignity of a card is created by its position in the spread, whether it is dealt upright or reversed, or the relationship between the element of the card and the elements of surrounding cards.

Whether or not you choose to honor reversals in your readings, you must consider the dignity of the cards you interpret. How you determine dignity is up to you.

A card’s dignity will determine whether the energy of the card is strong and direct, or weak, or delayed.

A card that is typically considered negative may be mitigated by its poor dignity, while a card that is considered positive may be delayed or weakened by poor dignity.

Rather than considering individual cards as positive or negative, let the dignity of the cards help you to determine the energy of the particular card within the context of the reading.

Your One-Card Weekly Reading

Your one-card reading this week is Justice.

This week, pay special attention to matters of legality. It is very fitting that I drew the Justice card for us today, which is Tax Day here in the United States.

Justice can remind us to pay our taxes, drive the speed limit and follow the law.

Justice also reminds us to do the right thing in other ways.

Justice asks us to find the right balance in life, and to treat other people fairly.

Justice tells us that, even if things don’t feel fair to us right now, everything will balance out in the end.
