Hearing Our Guidance

Sometimes you can feel change coming. That’s what I was feeling this past October. Then, just after I finished a very successful nine-day visit to West Palm Beach I discovered what the winds of change were blowing in.

On October 24th, my father-in-law went into the hospital. Almost a full month later, right before Thanksgiving, he was able to go home after surviving a double bypass.

This autumn was full of exciting professional events for me; TarotCon, classes in West Palm Beach at Pearl Rauberts’, and headlining at FPG. The most life-changing thing that happened, however, was the realization that my in-laws would need us to be closer to them. The three-hour drive from Tampa was just too much.

Not everyone is comfortable making the decision to move, and then moving, within the space of only a month. For us, it was easy, because the guidance we felt was clear.

My new office in Palm City will be open within the next few weeks. My husband, John, and I, will move into our new condo in Stuart on December First.

Moving to the Treasure Coast not only brings us closer to my husband’s parents, it also brings us closer to our kids in West Palm Beach, and to the many friends and clients I met over the five years I had my office in the Harvey Building in downtown West Palm.

 I will miss my friends and clients in Tampa very much, but will be sure to visit often.

As you can imagine, with traveling, teaching and packing to move while keeping a full schedule of readings, a few things haven’t been getting done, including my weekly newsletter. Starting next week, you can expect to receive Tarot Topics in your inbox every week, just as you have come to expect over the past four years.

Three Ways to Hear Your Guidance

I believe that we all have an internal guidance system. Depending on your own belief system, you might feel that guidance comes from a Higher Power, angels, ancestors or your own higher self.

Often guidance has a precognitive aspect. We feel a change coming or we are compelled to prepare ourselves for something. Sometimes we see signs of what is to come. When that happens, those signs become an affirmation of our correct action.

When we seek guidance, is it important to remain open-minded and trust the process. Sometimes we will be guided to do something that wouldn’t be our first choice.
Here are three ways to help you tune in to your own guidance.

Ask, and Listen

In prayer, meditation, journaling or ceremony, ask for the guidance you need. Then, consciously listen for your answer. Without fear, impatience or anxiety, wait for those answers to come. Then, look for signs around you that confirm your guidance.
 
Divination

Using tools like tarot, runes or pendulum, ask questions that help you make decisions or find your path. Seek readings with competent professionals as well. You will discover there is great power in both reading for yourself and sitting with gifted readers.
 
Lucid Dreaming

If you ask for guidance before you go to sleep, very often you will find clarity in your dreams. You may have to do this a few nights in a row, and you may need to interpret the symbols you find in your dreams.
 
However you seek guidance, be patient. Sometimes it takes a while to get a clear message. Sometimes we need to spend a bit of time in a place of not knowing everything. If you are patient, and calm, your path will be clear when you need it to be.
