Answers to Your Questions about Tarot: Reading for Eeyore

Here’s a question from a professional tarot reader that really resonated for me. My colleague wanted some insight on reading for people who are negative and pessimistic. That is, people who are like the “Eeyore” character from Winnie-The-Pooh.

Many tarot readers are very compassionately motivated to help people.  Often, negative, pessimistic people don’t see the need or ability to grow or make positive change in their lives. They don’t understand that their way of thinking gets in the way of their success.

When you are reading for a person like this, you may not be able to get them to see things your way. Don’t take this personally, or see it as a failing in you. Simply read the cards and don’t argue. If a person is not willing to change their world view, you can’t force them, even if their world view is what is creating their problems.

Take heart knowing that you may be planting a seed for their healing, even if that seed may not sprout for many years.
