Welcome to My Blog!
Welcome to my personal blog. Here you will find my musings, thoughts and observations, all inspired by my experiences as a fulltime professional tarot reader.
Tarot is the filter through which I process and understand the world. Each card offers a philosophy, and a basis for comprehending the complexities of the human experience.
I was born in 1962, a minute after midnight, the day of the Cuban Missile Crisis. “The Monster Mash” was the number one song in the country at the time of my birth.
When I was about to turn six, my mother asked me what I wanted for my birthday. My answer surprised her. I had seen a round glass paperweight in a shop window. I knew if I had such I thing, I would be able to look within it, and see the future.
Mom tried to dissuade me; what would a six-year-old want with a paperweight? No doll, game or puzzle could turn my head.
I did get my “crystal ball” for my birthday that year. In fact, I still have it. Two years later, Santa left “Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Cards” in my holiday stocking.
As a teen, I envisioned many different careers for myself; writer, psychologist, actor, minister. Being a professional psychic wasn’t on the list because I didn’t know it could possibly be a career.
At nineteen, I learned about the I Ching, the Chinese method of divination.
I bought my first tarot deck at the age of 26. At 33, I became a professional reader.
After years of being a professional tarotist, the thing I am most grateful for is this. Every day I learn something new. It may be about tarot, about spirituality, about the complexity of life on planet earth, or about myself.
So that’s what this blog is about. It’s about the things I learn and think about each day I am lucky enough to be a tarot professional.
When I was a child, the thing I feared most was a boring life. Tarot has made sure boredom is never a possibility.
