The Language of Dreams
The word ‘dream’ can have two different meanings either as a noun or a verb. A dream can be what happens in our mind when we sleep. A dream can also be a cherished aspiration.
The dreams I want to discuss are the ones that happen when we sleep.
Humans spend a third of their lives asleep. it makes sense that what happens in our sleep has great value, not just for our bodies, but for the mind and spirit.
We have different types of dreams. Some are pleasant, and some can be unpleasant. Some dreams may obviously be created by something we are experiencing physically. Some dreams seem to be a way of processing the day’s events. Some dreams are recurring and may hold a key to healing long-term trauma, worries, or upsets. Some dreams offer solutions to problems. Some dreams are predictive. Some dreams may include communication from loved ones in spirit.
People who do not remember their dreams can try techniques to allow their dreams into their waking memory. Sometimes this can be as simple as setting that intention before going to sleep.
Setting an intention for your dreams can be a helpful technique in general. If you have a particular problem, you might set your intention to dream your solution. If you want a message from a loved one in spirit you can ask them to enter your dreams.
Another helpful dreamwork practice is to remember your dreams and interpret them. In our dreams, our subconscious mind and conscious mind can work with our higher self and our spiritual guides to send us the signs and symbols we need to see.
Sometimes the symbols of our dreams are universal. This means that we all dream of similar things. Some of the symbols of our dreams are unique to individuals, and deeply personal.
This is why dream interpretation must move beyond simply looking up universal symbols in a book.
The language of dreams is vast, and the wisdom that can be found in our dreams is significant.
The process of dream interpretation can be psychological, intuitive, or divinatory. We each must find a way to decipher the language of our dreams to find the wisdom our dreams may hold for us.

Tarot and Dreams
There are a few ways you can incorporate tarot into your dreamwork. One of the most interesting ways is to sleep with your deck in its pouch under your pillow for a few nights. The cards will influence your dreams!
Of course, there are many techniques for using tarot to interpret dreams.
Sometimes specific cards in tarot readings will tell us to pay attention to our dreams. A few of these cards are the Moon, the High Priestess, the Nine of Swords, and the Seven of Cups.
Occasionally you might dream of a tarot card. When that happens you can consider why that card was shown to you in your dream, and what it means to you.

Guidance on the Journey
A dream journal, or a simple notebook and pen on your bedside table, can be the best tool for dreamwork.
Before you go to sleep write down your intention to remember your dreams.
If you need guidance on a specific issue, write your question. This way, your dreams become a type of divination.
If you want to hear from someone in spirit, write a note to them.
When you awaken, write down everything you can remember about your dreams. Do not worry if they make sense while you are writing them down. Do try to write down every detail, including colors, feelings, and environment.
Later, come back to what you have written and try to find the wisdom in your dreams.
