What's on Your Wish List?
Let's use the magic of holiday miracles to manifest our wishes, for ourselves and for the world!
One of my favorite Advent activities as a child was making my holiday wish list.
As a grown-up, the things I wish for are much different than the toys I wanted Santa to bring.
Regardless of our diverse beliefs and traditions, the winter holidays remain a time when even the most logical people seem to believe in miracles, and that wishes can come true.
So often we limited ourselves, and our goals, with a lack of belief. It’s hard to make things happen in your life if you don’t believe those things are possible. At this time of year, we all seem to open up to the possibility that miracles can happen.
When we create a space for miracles and wishes, we truly embrace the magic of the season, and our ability to manifest positive change in ourselves, and in the world.
This year, why not make a grown-up wish list for yourself, and for the world? The first step to manifesting needed change is to state your desire for change.
So, what’s on your wish list?
This will be the last regular edition of Tarot Topics for 2015. I will be sending special holiday editions for the next two weeks.
My holiday wish for you is a renewed sense of hope in yourself and in the world, and the opportunity to truly manifest your dreams in 2016!
Two Tarot Cards for Wishes
We talk a lot about wishes, hopes, dreams and desires in tarot reading. Any card can represent someone’s hope or dream.
There are, however, two cards that traditionally carry the interpretation of hope, and wishes fulfilled.
The Nine of Cups is considered the traditional “wish card”.
The Star is considered the card of “hope”.
The next time either or both of these cards appear in a reading, pay special attention to ways that the theme of hope, and wishes fulfilled, works into the reading.
You can also use these cards in your tarot magick to help manifest the fulfillment of your hopes and wishes.

Your One-Card Weekly Reading
Your one-card reading this week is the High Priestess.
This card carries a strong spiritual message, but also a mundane message that is important for this time of year.
The High Priestess can accuse us of being overly perfectionistic. We want our holiday meals to be perfect, we want our events to be perfect, we want every present to be perfect.
In life, however, the only thing that is consistently perfect is our very human imperfection.
In this context, the High Priestess reminds us to relax, and to let go of the desire to be perfect.
The High Priestess also instructs us to look within, to find our internal strength and wisdom. The High Priestess tells us to stay balanced.
The High Priestess is also of interest to the Christmas story. Archetypally, this card is associated with the Virgin Mary, the Blessed Mother. In this way, this card becomes a very special holiday blessing for us.
The Week in Review
This week I shared a story of holiday tarot magick on my 78 Magickal Tools blog.
On my Dark Forest blog, I shared a post about how we resist change, and how we can embrace change for the New Year.

Song of the Week
I have two songs for you this week. They are both “homegrown” songs by professional musician friends. I love it when the holidays inspire creativity!
The first is “Beautiful Morning Dew” performed by New Haven area musicians. This is a song written by Robbie Jam, who has been a fixture of the local New Haven music scene for more than twenty years, and has been diagnosed with ALS.
The second is from Robin Renee. If you haven’t heard her “Yule Song”, a parody of Adam Sandler’s “Hanukkah Song”, give it a listen! If you have heard it, it’s worth a second time.

Card 29: Lady
Lady, or Woman, represents the female querent, or a special woman in the querent’s life. The Lady can indicate a love interest, a sister, a mother or a friend.
In romance, Lady will typically not represent a crush, affair or fling. The Lady is the most significant love interest, while less important women of interest might be indicated by Snake or Bouquet.
The playing card association for this card is Ace of Spades, which indicates contracts and opportunities.
In 2016 we will continue our weekly exploration of the Petit Lenormand.
What You Wish and What Will Be
In teaching divination, I often receive an interesting question.
“Is this reading reflecting only my desires, or is it predicting the fulfillment of my desires?”
Often, we misinterpret goals, desires and wishes as future predictions. This can be dangerous, because it can cause people to relax, believing their future is secure, when in fact, they need to make an effort to achieve their dreams.
When we see desires manifesting in the cards, we always have an opportunity to help fulfill those desires.
Often, the presence of our desires in the cards indicates the potential for us to achieve these things. Their presence indicates that the energy is available to us.
However, “potential” and “availability” are not predictions, are they?
We can use divination to help us manifest our desires, rather than simply predict whether they will or will not be fulfilled.
When the reading reveals our wishes coming true, it’s time to ask some new questions, such as “What do I need to do to achieve this?” or “What steps must I take to make sure this happens?”
The more proactive we can be in our questions, the more control we give ourselves in shaping our future and fulfilling our wishes.
