Woman Making Plans for a Holiday Meal.
Even before spooky season ends, we see the next season approaching. As soon as November arrives, we are in the winter holidays, ready or not. Different people feel different ways about this.
Like it or not, virtually everyone begins making shopping lists, checking budgets, planning menus and booking travel at this time of year. Whether we greet it with dread or anticipation is likely determined by four things: available resources, past associated trauma, our ability to manage expectations, and current relationships.
We all have different traditions and potential challenges this time of year. As we collectively begin a new month and step into this new season, I wish you the very best the season has to offer. May the joys be many and the challenges be few!

The StaarCorner
Many people are enjoying recordings from StaarCon 6 on StaarCast. We also had our first successful livestream AfterGlow session! I was excited to share a few tarot exercises, and to be able to record the session so that any StaarCon 6 ticketholder can watch it.
In this session, we did three tarot exercises. I will share them with you here. Watch the video on StaarCast to learn more!
Available Energies
Think about your life. Pull five cards at random and place them in front of you. Interpret these cards as the energies available in your life at this time.
Is there one card you wish were not there? Go ahead and take it out to magically remove this energy from your life.
Are there cards you wish to invert to change their energy? Do this as a magical exercise.
Finally, think of these cards as the energy around you for the next three months. Put them in any order you want to make the very best use of the energy present.
People and Professions
It is easy to think of certain cards as people, or to interpret certain cards as jobs. But what happens when you go through the deck and try to assign personalities and professions to all the cards?
Four Elements Spread
Lay out four cards, left to right. The position order is Air, Fire, Water, Earth. Interpret the elements of the cards and how each is influenced by the elemental position in which it is placed.
What you will discover is that you can do an impactful reading based on the elements alone, without ever interpreting the traditional card meanings.
Check the calendar on StaarCast regularly to find new livestream events!

Planning With Tarot
Whether you are excited to get going with holiday planning or dragging your feet, tarot can help. We have a million decisions to make as we plan to host or attend gatherings, purchase gifts, and visit loved ones.
It is easy to ask tarot to weigh in on menus, gifts, and flights. If I am trying to decide between multiple options, I will pull a card, or several cards, for each option, to see if one seems clearly preferable. Or, I might ask, "How will this option turn out?" and pull some cards.
The information I receive can be helpful, and incorporating tarot into planning makes it a bit more fun!

Tarot cards with a focus on the Two of Wands.
Tarot Wisdom for the Week
When I think about planning for the future, or for any event or holiday, the first tarot card that comes to my mind is the Two of Wands. I like to think about the story that is told by the Ace, Two, and Three in this suit.
With the Ace of Wands, we have an inspiration, a motivation, or a new project. With the Two, we consider how to execute it. With the Three, we bring it successfully to fruition.
The Two of Wands is the place where the work before the work happens. The Two of Wands is the lists, conversations, phone calls, research, prayers, and spells that go into making something happen. Spiritually, this card speaks of manifestation. Practically, this card reminds us that if we fail to plan, we plan to fail.
