Each One Teach One
“Each one teach one” is an African proverb that reminds us of the power of knowledge. When people are denied knowledge they are denied agency over their lives. The solution comes, not from an individual teacher, but from a community where each person is responsible to share what they know.
This has been true in the direst of circumstances and the most difficult of times. It is also true on the journey toward personal and spiritual growth and healing.
Each of us has something to teach, just as each of us has something to learn.
The more knowledge we can share with each other, the more we can grow as individuals, and as a community.
Tools such as astrology and tarot help us to share important knowledge with each other.
Modern technology makes the sharing of knowledge and ideas easy and widespread.
What valuable knowledge do you possess, and how can you share it?
What valuable knowledge do you desire, and where can you find it?

It's Never Been Easier!
It’s never been easier to learn something new! Many towns and cities have adult education programs that include classes in everything from cooking to knitting to astrology to computers.
Museums and libraries offer educational programs, often free of charge.
There are free websites and webinars designed to help you learn new things, and YouTube is full of high-quality instructional videos.
Meetup.com offers opportunities to meet with like-minded people, often with the goal of learning and sharing information.
Everything you want to know is at your fingertips if you are willing to look for it.
Likewise, if you have a skill to share, there are many possible venues to pursue.
The more we share knowledge with each other, the more we all grow.

The Week in Review
This week on our Tarot Topics Community blog I wrote about the Strength card from an interesting perspective. Read “Strength: The Risk of Love.”
On my Dark Forest blog I reviewed a great one-chair hair salon in Lake Worth.
On my personal blog, Tarot Trends, I shared some observations about how tarot works in “Another Kind of Tarot Trend.”
From Around the Web
Since our topic this week is learning and teaching, here are three teachers who are sharing their metaphysical knowledge freely on the internet.
Would you like to learn tarot? Check out Joan Bunning’s “Learning the Tarot” free online course.
You can learn astrology for free at “Always Astrology.”
A lot of people have been asking about the new popularity of the Lenormand cards. If you would like to learn to read Lenormand, try the “Learn Lenormand” website.

Teachers in Tarot
Each tarot card can teach us something about life and spirituality as we study the card. In the process of divination the cards can teach us about specific situations.
A great number of tarot cards specifically refer to teaching and learning. When they come up in a reading you may be instructed to share your wisdom, or to learn something new.
Here are some of the cards I associate with both formal education and informal learning.
Magician: The Magician may indicate a student, or a need to pursue education. Education will give you the tools, skills and abilities you need. Be open to learning something new. Recognize the power of knowledge.
High Priestess: The High Priestess learns through study, and through the journey within. This card may advise you to read a book, do research or meditate to find the knowledge you seek.
Hierophant: The Hierophant can represent spiritual teaching, doctrine and dogma. This card can also represent teachings held by an authority figure, such as a doctor, a lawyer or a priest.
The Hermit: The Hermit can represent the highest levels of formal education, or the journey to self-educate. The Hermit reminds us that knowledge comes from both within and without, but our journey to knowledge is one we must walk alone.
Three of Pentacles: This card refers to mastering a craft and receiving recognition for your knowledge and skill.
Eight of Pentacles: This card can indicate apprenticeship, or learning a trade.
Ace of Swords: The Ace of Swords advises us to discover what is true.
Pages: All four Pages could advise taking classes or learning something. Look to the suit to discover the nature of the material to be learned.
That so many cards in tarot reference teaching and learning indicates the importance of wisdom and knowledge on our journey through life.

Learning Tarot: Two of Wands
In tarot, the number two can refer to balance, stillness, partnership, decisions and duality. Of course, the suit of Wands relates to the element of Fire. Fire is associated with passion, creativity, spirituality, and motivation.
When we look at the Two of Wands in the Rider Waite Smith Tarot we see a person who is standing where he can see the whole world in front of him, yet he is focused on a globe in his hand.
In tarot, each suit tells stories. In the suit of Wands a story begins with the Ace. We have a fabulous idea, a wonderful inspiration.
As we move on to the two, we are in a place of contemplation. We must dream, plan, think and set goals. Now is not a time for action. Now is a time to figure out what action to take. What are we going to do with our fabulous idea?
Key words for the Two of Wands include planning, scheming, dreaming, contemplation, goals, looking to the future.
When this card is reversed, you may have forgotten to plan, or may not be sure of your goals. It may be that you had planned a particular future that has now become unlikely.
Next week we will see what happens when dreams become reality as we move on to the Three of Wands.

Your One-Card Weekly Reading
This week your one-card weekly reading is the Three of Swords. While not as pretty a picture as some, the three of Swords offers us an opportunity to heal.
This week, examine your hurts and heartaches. Be grateful for your journey, regardless of where it has taken you. Take a moment to find the lessons available from the things that have hurt you.
Meditate, pray, divine and dream on your process for healing. Discover and release your beliefs about yourself and your situation that make healing difficult.
Release your sorrow, and allow yourself to heal!
