Lunar Eclipse

On Tuesday, April 15, there will be a lunar eclipse.

Many people find power in the phases of the moon.  Some use the new moon to start new projects. Some use the full moon to energize new or existing projects. Some use the full or waning moon as a time to release that which is no longer needed.

Some say that the lunar eclipse carries the power of both the new moon and the full moon at the same time. That would mean this week is a great time to contemplate new projects, and also a great time to release anything that might get in the way of those new projects!

As people have done for centuries, we can enjoy the beauty of the lunar eclipse, and use its energy to help us manifest what we need, and release what we don’t.

The Celestial Cards

In the last seven cards of the Major Arcana are the cards I call “The Celestial Cards.” At this time of lunar eclipse it makes sense to consider these cards that reference the heavenly bodies.

In spirituality, we often use the term “light” to describe our own enlightenment, our understanding of truth, healing energy and the love and power of Higher Power.

Each of these three celestial cards deal with spiritual light in a specific way.

The Star: Key words for the Star include hope, healing, abundance and satisfaction.  In this card, heaven’s light is poured upon the Earth. We must available ourselves of the healing light.

The Moon: Key words for the Moon include mystery, intuition, spirituality, dreams, illusion and confusion. Nothing in the light of the moon looks the way it does in daylight. We must search for the light of truth, and not be fooled by illusions.

The Sun: Key words for the Sun are happiness, brilliance and success. Here, the light is within us. We shine more brightly than the sun, and share our light with others.

This coming Sunday, April 13th, our show is about “Random Acts of Tarot Kindness,” featuring a video from Donnaleigh de LaRose, and interviews with Linda Armstrong and Anita Perez. What happens when tarot and kindness intersect? Watch the show and find out!

Learning Tarot: Six of Wands

In the Rider Waite Smith image, we see a soldier returning from battle, victorious. Traditionally, the Six of Wands is specifically interpreted as “victory after battle.”

In the Five of Wands we see a conflict. With the Six of Wands we see that the conflict has been successfully resolved.

The Six of Wands is the card of competition, and can indicate enrollment in a race or contest, athletic, creative or professional.

The Six of Wands can predict a win, or a successful conclusion.

Traditionally, the number six can refer to victory, glory or service. All three are present in the Six of Wands.

Next week we will explore the Seven of Wands as we continue our journey through the suit of Fire.
