Breathe and Believe

Energy work is effective if we use the right techniques.

AdobeStock_84538518-2500x1667.jpg

We hear a lot about manifestation, magic, and the Law of Attraction. We try magical spells with tarot cards, candles, and crystals. Some people seem to find these practices very effective at helping them achieve their goals. Other people come to me wondering why their practices have never achieved the results they wanted. Some people have even reported that their circumstances have declined since they began these metaphysical practices.

There can be a few reasons that your energy work is not getting you the results you want.

My mother used to say that God answers all prayers, but sometimes the answer is no. There may be a larger cosmic reason that your desires do not align with the Universe’s plan for you.

Yet, there are some issues of technique that make a difference when we practice manifestation work. If you are not using these techniques properly, you might experience lackluster results.

The most important technique for any energy work, divination, magic, mediation, or yoga is proper conscious breathing. When we pay attention to the breath, breathe deeply and fully, and direct our breath, the breath becomes our most important magical tool.

You can follow every step in a spell you found in a book, but if you do not use the power of your breath, your spell may fall flat.

Another important point of technique is to do the mundane work associated with your desire. Your desire must be possible in the mundane world, and you must do the things that it takes to support that desire.

Many people will tell you that you need to believe in the energy work you are doing for it to be effective. I will take that a step further and say that you need to believe in yourself, and in your ability to achieve whatever goal you have set for yourself.

However, belief is not enough. In doing this energy work, you must be able to visualize your success as if it is happening in this moment. See your success in real time, in the present moment, in your mind’s eye. It is there that the magic happens.

Breathing with a Tarot Card

When we speak of breathing with intention, we often talk about breathing an energy in, or breathing into a particular chakra or area of the body.

When working with specific tarot cards to manifest our desires, we can breathe the energy of the card into our bodies. This empowers us with the energy of that card.

Here is how to breathe in a tarot card.

Select the card that carries the energy you need more of in your life. For example, if you need a great new job, select the Ace of Pentacles or the Three of Pentacles. If you want a new love relationship, select the Two of Cups. If you want to feel more vitality and inspiration, select the Ace of Wands.

Look at the card and begin meditative intentional breathing. Think about the energy of the card. Visualize your life as it will be when this energy is manifested. Now hold the card to your heart, your throat, and your third eye. As you do this, consciously take the energy of the card into your body as you inhale.

This powerful practice will help you bring your desires to life.

The Week in Review

This week I shared a blogpost about one of the most confusing cards in the tarot deck, the Moon.

On my YouTube channel this week we will have two free tarot classes!

From Around the Web

From Tarot Parlor, Use Tarot Cards to Manifest What You Want.

From Tarot Romance, the Top Twelve Tarot Cards for Manifesting.

From Emerald Lotus Divination, a tarot spread to help you manifest your desires.

Cards for Your Consideration

A good card to consider when thinking about the process of manifestation and energy work is Major Arcana 1, The Magician. Related to the planet Mercury, the Magician’s ruling element is Air. The element of Air supports conscious breathing and effective visualization. As ruler of the intellect, Air also supports our belief in self and in our goals.

As card 1, the Magician is an initiate, just beginning a journey of learning and growth. As such, this card encourages us to begin our journey toward fulfilling our goals.

The Magician is pictured with the Four Tools of Magic on his table. Each tool gives the Magician the ability to work with one of the Four Elements. With those elements the Magician can create what he desires.

Meditation

Meditation is the key to relaxation, well-being, manifestation and psychic development.

So many people are convinced that they “can’t meditate.” Usually this is because they don’t realize how many ways there are to meditate.

Every culture and tradition teaches some meditative practice, and your meditative practice can be as unique as you are.

You can meditate while walking, dancing or drumming. You can meditate in water, or with music. The important thing is to stay focused on your conscious breathe.

If you don’t have a meditative practice, try to find one that works for you. Each of us needs a way to clear, ground and center.

When we meditate, we develop focus, self-control, intuition and connection with our guidance.

Meditation for Psychic Development

I know a professional psychic who says that all psychic work comes down to four basics; sleep, meditation, exercise and diet.

I think it makes sense that the basics of good health support our psychic development.

If you want to be more intuitive, or more able to listen to your guidance, meditation can help.

When you meditate, focus on your breathing. As in yoga, and other holistic practices, the breath is very important.

Don’t worry about “emptying your mind.” Simply breathe, and let your mind wander. What do you think about when you are not controlling your thoughts?

After your meditation, write down the thoughts that came to you, and spend some time reflecting on them.

Meditation gives more energy than it takes, and can be done in very little time.

Eventually, you will begin to hear your guidance, and feel in tune with your higher consciousness.

The Week in Review

This week on my Tarot Topics Community Blog I wrote a piece about a very interesting Major Arcana card, the Lovers. Believe it or not, the Lovers is a card of logic! Read the post and find out why.

On my personal blog, Tarot Trends, I wrote about a particular tarot experience. Read “Four Suits, a New Relationship and a Tarot Journal.”

On my Dark Forest Blog, here is the second in a three-part series about marketing mistakes. If you have a healing practice, this series is for you!

From Around the Web

The tarot world is always growing and changing. There are new decks, new traditions, and new ways of working with the cards. Here are three exciting, original products for use with your tarot decks. Each is designed to expand your tarot work and play.

From Tierney Sadler, here is “The Deck of 1000 Spreads.”

A similar concept, but different creation, is “Dynamic Spreads Deck.”

Finally, have you played “The Tarot Game?”

Three Ways to Meditate with a Tarot Card

Many tarot books and teachers will tell you to meditate with you cards, or with a particular card. But how is that done?

There are a few ways many people use to meditate with tarot. You may find a new way, and that’s great, too. We are constantly expanding the ways we work with tarot.

1.  Problem-Solving Tarot Meditation

If there is a particular problem you need to solve, find the card that, to you, represents that problem. In meditation, see yourself as the character in the card, and find a way to solve the problem presented in the card.

As you lay down your Ten of Wands burden, or remove your Eight of Swords blindfold, you will find the power and support to solve your problem in life.

2.  Wisdom-Seeking Tarot Meditation

If you are seeking a particular sort of wisdom or knowledge, find the card that represents that wisdom to you. In meditation, enter the card and have a conversation with the card character. You will be surprised at the wisdom you receive.

3.  Card Study Tarot Meditation

Chose a card each day, or each time you study. Choose the card at random, or do each card in order. Simply look at the card, read about it, and think about it.

Then, in meditation, keep the card in your vision and ask it “What do you mean to me?”

Try these three tarot meditation techniques, and see what other techniques you can develop to let tarot and meditation enhance each other.

Learning Tarot: Page of Cups

In tarot, Pages can represent children, young people, students and communicators. It is possible that, when a Page appears in a tarot reading, the Page is a reference to an actual young person in the querent’s life.

The Page of Cups could be a young person with a strong “Water” energy. That is, the Page of Cups can be a gentle, sensitive young person, with a loving heart and a kind disposition.

The Page of Cups can also be a person of any age who is engaged in learning something new, or who is learning to communicate their heart.

Sometimes the Page of Cups appears in a reading as a message of love from one who is passed.

The Page of Cups could also represent a romantic interest, especially in younger people.

Pages, and Court cards in general, are not always specific people. The Page of Cups can indicate the need to speak your heart; to express your emotions. The Page of Cups could direct you to temper your communication with love.

The Page of Cups can also predict the arrival of a love letter.

Next week we will continue our journey through the Cups court, when we meet the Knight of Cups.
