Speak From Your Heart, Not From Your Hurt

It's important to communicate our feelings, as long as we don't let the feelings drive the communication.

Speak From Your Heart, Not From Your Hurt

Communication can bring healing.

This week, as I was doing my Three-Card Weekly Reading on Facebook Live, the cards I had pulled caused me to say, “speak from your heart, not from your hurt”. A number of viewers commented on this; it seemed to really strike a chord with people. It certainly did with me.

How often have we said things we regretted because of the emotions we were feeling at the time? How often have we given the weight of our pain and anger to those who weren’t the cause of that pain?

Even when speaking to someone who has caused us pain, we are more effective when we don’t let our pain guide the conversation.

When we communicate with friends and loved ones it is important to be authentic. We need to let people know where we are coming from. If we are feeling pain, we need to share that. The trick is to speak about the pain rather than to let the pain speak.

When we give voice to our pain and hurt, we very often speak with resentment, fear and anger. When we speak about our pain and hurt, we can speak thoughtfully and in a way that doesn’t cause more hurt.

There are many people who feel we need to keep all conversations positive; that we should only speak about pleasant things and keep the unpleasant things private. Yet, when we bury our feelings, they can fester and become the foundation for depression, anxiety and low self-esteem.

We need to acknowledge our pain in order to find healing. Very often that healing comes from communication. Sometimes it is impossible to share our feelings with those who have caused us the most hurt. It’s good when we can find a friend, loved one or professional to help us process our grief. Never should we direct that pain and hurt toward a person. Yet, we should always have at least one person with whom we can talk about our feelings.

The next time you are having a difficult conversation, make sure you are speaking from your heart, not from your hurt. The next time something makes you angry, find a way to acknowledge that anger without blasting that angry energy at another person.

Own your feelings and speak of them honestly. But don’t let your feelings do the speaking.

Cards for Your Consideration

The tarot Pages often represent young people. Yet, they have other meanings, too. One important thing the Pages can indicate is communication. The type of communication is determined by the suit.

Since the suit of Cups is related to the element of Water, and Water is about matters of the heart, the Page of Cups can instruct us to speak from the heart, and to communicate in a loving way.

Sometimes this card can even show up as a message of love from a departed loved one!

If many Pages appear in a tarot spread, there may be a need to pay attention to communication. If the Page of Cups appears, it may be an indicator that you need to speak what is in your heart.

This Page of Cups is from Ciro Marchetti’s Tarot of Dreams. Get your copy of this striking deck from my website.

Once in a Blue Moon

July 31st is a rare blue moon. Tarot Topics will help you harness it’s power!

This Friday, July 31, we will experience a rare blue moon. That is, a second full moon in a single month. This is a special time of power.

This week, think about the wonderful things you rarely do, and celebrate the blue moon by doing something unusual, unique or rare in your own life.

Is there something you have been wanting to do, but haven’t found the motivation to do it? The blue moon asks the question, “If not now, when?”

This week, let the powerful energy of the blue moon bring rare opportunities and motivation to you!

The Power of Dreams

Often special events in the night sky can lead to special dreams. This week, pay attention to your dreams, and to your intuitive thoughts.

Even if your dreams and visions don’t make sense, take the time to write them down. As you contemplate the symbols you receive, you may be able to make some sense of them.

You can also use this time of power to ask for a special dream, perhaps a dream that gives you a solution or some insight. Simply set your intention before going to sleep, and make sure to write down every detail you remember in the morning.

Take advantage of the blue moon and receive some helpful guidance in your dreams!

The Week in Review

This week, on my Community Blog, I shared a letter from Jake, a professional tarot reader who discovered that tarot really made a difference in his life. Read “Tarot Really Works.”

As an outgrowth of our program last Sunday at the Tampa Bay Area Tarot Meetup, I posted some information on my personal blog about interpreting Court Cards.

From Around the Web

So many folks have been sharing information about Frida’s blue moon!

Here’s the Shamanic Astrology perspective on the upcoming blue moon.

Elephant Journal shared two articles about this sacred event.  This, from Alex Myles, and this, from Kate Rose.

The Power of Being Unique

In a world where there is a lot of pressure to conform, it can be difficult to be a person who does unusual things.

It’s important for us to find the power in our unique qualities.  Tarot can help us do that.

Try shuffling your deck and asking this question.

What is something special and unique about me?

Pull a card, and interpret it to help you understand a part of yourself that is unique, and powerful.

What’s up at the Psychic Café?

You can now see my interview with Michael Bridge-Dickson on YouTube.  We had a wonderful conversation about his new tarot deck, now in funding.

Orbifold Tarot is unique in many ways. Working simply with colors, shapes, numbers and elements, this new deck is surprisingly expressive and versatile.

You’ll be amazed at the things you learn about tarot, the Universe and everything from Michael Bridge-Dickson.

Card Thirteen: Child

Card Thirteen, Child, can refer to an actual child. Related to the playing card Jack of Hearts, this card can often refer to a person who is close to the querent’s heart.

Sometimes the Lenormand Child can refer to something new, or to a youthful attitude. Typically, this is considered a positive card. Whether referring to a young person, a situation or an attitude, the mood is light-hearted, playful and full of wonder.

Next week we will explore Card Fourteen, Fox.

What’s happening at Florida TarotCon?

TarotCon is coming to Florida October 10th and 11th, to the Doubletree Hotel in Palm beach Gardens. If you reserve your seat before August 9th, you will save $50 on your tuition.

Expect workshops from Ciro Marchetti, Marcus Katz and Tali Goodwin, Corrine Kenner, Lisa Hunt, Jenna Matlin, Gina Theis, Christiana Gaudet and more!

Out of the Comfort Zone!

This week Tarot Topics helps you get out of your comfort zone and into your success! Find out about Christiana’s new location, and some great opportunities to learn tarot!

Out of the Comfort Zone!

We all need people, places and activities that make us feel comfortable. We need to be able to relax and feel at peace. At the same time, most of the really exciting, memorable and successful moments of life happen outside of our comfort zone.

Whether your goal is to further your career, heal your body or build a relationship, you may have to push out of your comfort zone to get the results you want.

Faith, Not Fear

Fear, uncertainty and doubt keep us locked in the comfort zone, afraid to explore our possibilities. Remember that faith is stronger than fear. Have faith in yourself, have faith in your High Power, and have faith in your dreams and goals.

The Week in Review

This week I wrote about two important lessons of tarot reading of which I was reminded during a tarot party. Read “Tarot Reading: Say What You See and Assume Nothing” on my personal blog.

You’ve probably noticed that my website is under construction! Little by little, I am adding helpful information about tarot, personal growth, and ways I can be of service to you. Check out my most recent addition, information about my new office!

Push out of the Comfort Zone with Tarot

Here’s an exercise to help you move out of your comfort zone and into the place where extraordinary things happen.

From your four tarot suits, and your Major Arcana, separate out the fours, fives and sixes. You will end up with the four, five and six of Cups, Wands, Swords and Pentacles, as well as the Emperor, the Hierophant and the Lovers.

Now, separate these cards into their suits. Look at each progression of cards. See how, in each suit, the four represents a place of security. In the five, we see some conflict and difficulty that comes from moving out of the comfort zone. Finally, in the six, we see the successful resolution.

In each suit, including the Major Arcana, we see the story of moving from the comfort zone into a place of success.

What do these stories tell you about your own life, and what is possible for you?

What’s up at the Psychic Café?

I’m working on some great new episodes of Christiana’s Psychic Cafe for you! In the meantime, check out this week’s featured episode.

Last May, I gathered some metaphysical entrepreneurs to discuss ways to catapult your metaphysical business. Join Amethyst Mahoney, Gary Karp, Jenna Matlin and me as we discuss the ins and outs of building a business. Watch this episode at your convenience on my YouTube channel.

House, from Gilded Reverie Lenormand, by Ciro Marchetti.

Learning Lenormand

Card 4: House

The House speaks of domestic affairs, your home, your family, and real estate matters. The House describes a safe, stable situation, be that home, career or relationship.

In business, the House could describe home-related careers such as building, housecleaning or home design, stay-at-home-parenting, or a home-based business.

In love, the House describes a happy, stable relationship.

Although the House speaks of desirable things, many Lenormand readers consider this card neutral, rather than positive. The cards that surround it will determine the nature of it’s message.

The playing card association for the House is the King of Hearts. The House, then, can also represent a loving, older gentleman.

Next week we will continue our exploration of the Lenormand cards with card 5, Tree.

Opening Monday

Meditation

Meditation is the key to relaxation, well-being, manifestation and psychic development.

So many people are convinced that they “can’t meditate.” Usually this is because they don’t realize how many ways there are to meditate.

Every culture and tradition teaches some meditative practice, and your meditative practice can be as unique as you are.

You can meditate while walking, dancing or drumming. You can meditate in water, or with music. The important thing is to stay focused on your conscious breathe.

If you don’t have a meditative practice, try to find one that works for you. Each of us needs a way to clear, ground and center.

When we meditate, we develop focus, self-control, intuition and connection with our guidance.

Meditation for Psychic Development

I know a professional psychic who says that all psychic work comes down to four basics; sleep, meditation, exercise and diet.

I think it makes sense that the basics of good health support our psychic development.

If you want to be more intuitive, or more able to listen to your guidance, meditation can help.

When you meditate, focus on your breathing. As in yoga, and other holistic practices, the breath is very important.

Don’t worry about “emptying your mind.” Simply breathe, and let your mind wander. What do you think about when you are not controlling your thoughts?

After your meditation, write down the thoughts that came to you, and spend some time reflecting on them.

Meditation gives more energy than it takes, and can be done in very little time.

Eventually, you will begin to hear your guidance, and feel in tune with your higher consciousness.

The Week in Review

This week on my Tarot Topics Community Blog I wrote a piece about a very interesting Major Arcana card, the Lovers. Believe it or not, the Lovers is a card of logic! Read the post and find out why.

On my personal blog, Tarot Trends, I wrote about a particular tarot experience. Read “Four Suits, a New Relationship and a Tarot Journal.”

On my Dark Forest Blog, here is the second in a three-part series about marketing mistakes. If you have a healing practice, this series is for you!

From Around the Web

The tarot world is always growing and changing. There are new decks, new traditions, and new ways of working with the cards. Here are three exciting, original products for use with your tarot decks. Each is designed to expand your tarot work and play.

From Tierney Sadler, here is “The Deck of 1000 Spreads.”

A similar concept, but different creation, is “Dynamic Spreads Deck.”

Three Ways to Meditate with a Tarot Card

Many tarot books and teachers will tell you to meditate with you cards, or with a particular card. But how is that done?

There are a few ways many people use to meditate with tarot. You may find a new way, and that’s great, too. We are constantly expanding the ways we work with tarot.

1.  Problem-Solving Tarot Meditation

If there is a particular problem you need to solve, find the card that, to you, represents that problem. In meditation, see yourself as the character in the card, and find a way to solve the problem presented in the card.

As you lay down your Ten of Wands burden, or remove your Eight of Swords blindfold, you will find the power and support to solve your problem in life.

2.  Wisdom-Seeking Tarot Meditation

If you are seeking a particular sort of wisdom or knowledge, find the card that represents that wisdom to you. In meditation, enter the card and have a conversation with the card character. You will be surprised at the wisdom you receive.

3.  Card Study Tarot Meditation

Chose a card each day, or each time you study. Choose the card at random, or do each card in order. Simply look at the card, read about it, and think about it.

Then, in meditation, keep the card in your vision and ask it “What do you mean to me?”

Try these three tarot meditation techniques, and see what other techniques you can develop to let tarot and meditation enhance each other.

Learning Tarot: Page of Cups

In tarot, Pages can represent children, young people, students and communicators. It is possible that, when a Page appears in a tarot reading, the Page is a reference to an actual young person in the querent’s life.

The Page of Cups could be a young person with a strong “Water” energy. That is, the Page of Cups can be a gentle, sensitive young person, with a loving heart and a kind disposition.

The Page of Cups can also be a person of any age who is engaged in learning something new, or who is learning to communicate their heart.

Sometimes the Page of Cups appears in a reading as a message of love from one who is passed.

The Page of Cups could also represent a romantic interest, especially in younger people.

Pages, and Court cards in general, are not always specific people. The Page of Cups can indicate the need to speak your heart; to express your emotions. The Page of Cups could direct you to temper your communication with love.

The Page of Cups can also predict the arrival of a love letter.

Next week we will continue our journey through the Cups court, when we meet the Knight of Cups.
