Thank Your Younger Self

Every day, I see memes asking us to advise our younger selves. What would you want your younger self to know? What do you wish someone had told you when you were younger? These questions can be light-hearted and thought-provoking.

Something I have never seen is a prompt about what you are grateful for in your younger self. What did you do when you were younger that has served you well over the years? What did you do that put you on a good path? Was there something that seemed like a mistake then but turned out to create a golden opportunity?

If you could go back and thank your younger self for something, what would it be?

Viewing our past through a lens of gratitude changes things. So often, we hang on to past regrets. We look at our younger selves and wish we had done things differently.

When we hold our young selves with gratitude, we automatically hold our young selves with compassion.

That compassionate, grateful vision of the journey that brought us here is a gift to the present and future self.

Amy Forman might be entertaining at an upscale corporate party or family celebration on any given weekend. Sometimes, she is hired to read tarot. Sometimes, she makes balloon animals. Occasionally, she performs as a belly dancer, hoop dancer, or mermaid. Sometimes, she offers lip print readings.

Lip print reading is a fascinating new divination technique uniquely suited to the party environment.

At StaarCon 2024, Amy will offer a two-part Friday Intensive entitled The Art of Reading Lip Prints. You will spend the first session learning the technique and the second session practicing and seeing how it works. Whether you join in person or online, you can learn this simple, easy, and fascinating divination technique.

A Tarot Spread for Regret and Gratitude

Is there something in your past that is hard for you to process? Is there a decision you made years ago that proved to be unwise?

It is unlikely that any adult would answer these questions negatively. We all have regrets.

The question is, can we find gratitude as we reprocess the past to heal and get closure?

Here is a tarot spread to help you do that.

Let Card One represent the situation you regret.

Let Card Two represent your actions in that situation.

Let Card Three represent the reason for your actions.

Let Card Four represent the regrettable outcome of that situation.

Let Card Five show you something good that came from that situation.

The Week in Review

This weekend is Labor Day in the United States. My family and I wish everyone a happy and safe holiday. I am available throughout the holiday weekend for sessions. You can use my website to book directly or call or text 561-655-1160.

I was excited and honored to be the second-ever guest on Aerik Arkadian’s new series, Music, Myth & Magic. Read the post and watch the video!

In this interview, you will learn how I found my voice, what the movie Spinal Tap has to do with my favorite tarot spread, and what a ‘free toast reading’ is.

You can watch the replay if you are a member of my YouTube channel and missed last night’s members-only livestream.

From Around the Web

I was excited to see this blogpost from StaarCon presenter María Alviz Hernando. María has shared something that I think we all know but never talk about. Jewelry is magic.

Marieke Lexmond presented at StaarCon in 2022 and 2023. She is the author of a tarot-inspired fiction series called The Madigan Chronicles. Enjoy this fascinating interview with her.

Creation and Divination

Here is a way to create a simple oracle based on your own life so far. The process of creation will be insightful and healing. The oracle you make will be as unique as you are.

Make a list of the important things that have happened in your life, both pleasant and unpleasant. Then, make a list of things that you have learned from those events. Make a list of your regrets and your gratitudes.

Get a pack of index cards.

Write one item for your lists on each card. Or, if you are artistic, draw a symbol or simple image to represent each item.

Once your cards are complete, use them as a personal oracle. You can draw a card for insight or to answer questions.
