You're Grounded!

When I was a teenager, being grounded was my least favorite punishment, and the one my parents used the most. It’s funny that now I use the term ‘grounded’ to refer to the spiritual state of being connected to the Earth, rather than not being allowed to leave the house.
When we think of being grounded, we think of being emotionally stable, secure, and centered, even in times of stress. We don’t always think or speak of the energetic aspects of grounding.
What is grounding, really? Grounding is connecting to the Earth and allowing its energy to support and sustain us. Grounding is staying focused on what moves us forward, not what holds us back.
The truth is, if we are not feeling centered or emotionally well-regulated, a meditative grounding exercise can often bring us to a more balanced state very quickly. It is also true that performing grounding exercises regularly can help heal childhood trauma and can help us increase our health and wealth.
There are many exercises and techniques for grounding. I like to do root chakra meditation to connect with the Earth. Now that it is Spring in the Northern Hemisphere, outdoor activities like gardening and camping can also help us to find our grounding.
When we are grounded, we do not worry that others have more than we do or that we will not have what we need. When we are grounded, we feel secure and confident in ourselves.
Being grounded means being authentic. To ground into a false version of yourself is always an exercise in frustration.
As the Earth is being renewed, we can renew our connection to it. When we stay grounded, we are more likely to stay well, successful, and happy.

As you know, one of our commitments at StaarCon is to present a wide range of topics of interest to tarot readers. I am excited to tell you about two of our returning presenters who will be sharing very interesting topics.
Alyassia “Asia” Taylor, PhD, shared a sound bath at StaarCon 5 and led monthly full-moon circles during the StaarCon 5 AfterGlow. At StaarCon 6, Asia will be offering a presentation in the Livestream room on Human Design as a divination tool, and how the Human Design system can work with tarot!
Teri Salomoni has been involved in StaarCon since 2022, when she joined as a volunteer. She was a presenter in 2023 and 2024. For StaarCon 5, she designed and produced the headwear that created our living Major Arcana.
At StaarCon 6, Teri will share Strega Secrets in the Mindful room! Strega is a traditional magical practice from Italy, of which Teri is a lifelong practitioner.
We are so excited to learn from Asia and Teri, and all the fabulous StaarCon 6 presenters!

Grounding with Tarot
Tarot can help us with grounding when we use it for divination and magic. In divination, we can ask questions about how we can be more grounded. In magic, we can take a card such as the Ace of Pentacles, breathe it in, and meditate with it to embrace its energy.
Sometimes, anxiety keeps us from being grounded. We can also use divination and tarot magic to help quell anxiety, so we can more easily feel grounded.

Tarot Wisdom For the Week
Of all the seventy-eight cards, the one I most associate with grounding is the Ace of Pentacles. For me, the Ace of Pentacles can literally represent the root chakra.
On a practical level, the Ace of Pentacles can be new money, a new job, or a new health care protocol. On a deeper level, the Ace of Pentacles can discuss your connection to the Earth and your sense of groundedness.
The Ace of Pentacles might suggest you do some grounding activities, such as gardening or baking. The Ace of Pentacles might predict that your financial situation is about to improve.
The Ace of Pentacles reminds us that wealth and well-being are supported when we keep ourselves connected to the Earth.
