The Journey of Persephone

I love the myth of Persephone, and I especially enjoy that Persephone, known in Rome as Proserpina, is strongly associated with the High Priestess in tarot. In tarot, we say that the High Priestess travels between the world of the living and the world of the dead, and between the conscious, the unconscious, and the subconscious, just as Persephone journeys between our world and the underworld twice a year.
From Persephone, and from that the High Priestess, we deeply learn the lessons of balance. That includes the fact that we can have interests, friends, dreams, and responsibilities that exist in disparate realms. We are never one-dimensional. In fact, the more we can understand different ideologies and embrace variety in life, the richer life can be. We all make the journey of Persephone in some ways, sometimes daily. We move between our work selves and our home selves, or within our family, as we navigate being a parent to our kids and an adult child to our parents.
The equinox happens on Tuesday, September 22. In myth, this is when Persephone returns to the underworld for another six months. We will celebrate the equinox with our members on YouTube! We will be discussing the tarot cards that teach us about intuition, like the High Priestess, how intuition works in a tarot reading, and how to develop your intuition in tarot and in life.
